June Transportation Tip: Sunday, Sunday, Sunday…

Parkways! Have you been to one yet? Have you heard about it? Presented annually by Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), the family friendly bike rides showcase different neighborhoods and encourage folk to get on their bikes on closed-off (meaning no cars!) roads. Food, drinks, and entertainment line the courses and the neighborhoods become instant block parties – watch out for kids with water guns!
On May 13, Northeast Sunday Parkways took place and over 28,000 cyclists and pedestrians came out (including South Waterfront Community Relations). One Sunday Parkways will occur once a month from June till September, so get out that bike and join the fun!
Sunday Parkways coming up:
- North – June 24
- Southwest – July 22
- Southeast – August 26
- East – September 30
