2012 marks the first year of the South Waterfront Farmers Market in Elizabeth Caruthers Park! The market will kick off with a fun opening day on June 14, 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and will continue on Thursdays through September 27. The market will feature 10-12 vendors, including produce and a variety of other locally grown/made foods. Questions? The fantastic OHSU Farmers Market will reopen Tuesday, June 5! The market runs Tuesdays, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, June 5 – October 30 at the OHSU Auditorium Courtyard near the Mac Hall Fountain. Expect to find produce, meat, cheese, honey, nuts, fish, mushrooms, bread, dips, jam, many lunch options, fresh juice, gluten free and regular decadent pastries, music and community guests each week! Southwest Charter School’s Theatre Department presents an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s romantic tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. The proceeds will go to fund arts programs at the school. Please contact the school if you are interested in purchasing ad space in the program.

This month we will cross the river (twice!) as we take on the Esplanade bridge loop – with a stop in the nearby Central Eastside Industrial District for a visit to craft brewery tasting room, Hair of the Dog. Sample a taste or a full flight of artisan beer, if you feel so inclined, before walking it off on the return trip.
This walk is approximately 5.3 miles round trip and is mostly flat.
